Hi, I'm Amy.

I know how frustrating it is to have big dreams for your garden...only to find the reality less vibrant, despite lots of hard work. From feeling overwhelmed by too much info to wondering if I'm making sustainable choices, I've been there.

That's why I've spent the last seven years helping thousands of aspiring gardeners learn how to compost, build healthy soil, support pollinators, and grow a better garden.

Amy

"My garden has improved since the composting course and I’m keen to keep moving forward. I like Amy's balanced and friendly approach to gardening. I’m noticing the garden ecosystem is finally beginning to balance itself out."

- Julie from Bunbury, Western Australia

"I took Amy's class and challenge because I wanted to grow food with my family this year, but I wasn't sure how to get started. Thanks to her input, we successfully grew tomatoes, potatoes, and peas...and started a compost bin!"

- Melissa from Pella, Iowa

"As a fairly experienced gardener, I was pleasantly surprised by all of the hints and new things I learned. Amy really helped me streamline what I wanted to accomplish in my garden and focus my energy in that direction. I highly recommend her to all levels of gardener and all sizes and ages of families!"

- Jessica from Albuquerque, New Mexico

At Gardens That Matter, we know you'd love to have a yard you love where you're growing food and enjoying time outside with your family and friends. In order to create a vibrant garden, you need to develop the knowledge and skills to be a confident gardener. And sometimes, you just need a quick "how to" to get a project done.

The problem is it's easy to end up in the weeds when you look up info and try to troubleshoot problems. It leaves you feeling overwhelmed and frustrated.

We believe it should be easy to start a garden and fun to improve it over time. We understand that there's always more to do than sunny hours to do it. That's why we keep it simple. We focus on the essentials with a bias toward action. We all learn best from experience, and our goal is to help you gain it.

Here's how it works:

  1. Get access. Become a member and you'll get ongoing access to our classes, community, and special monthly content and live events.
  2. Follow the path. We've created a clear step-by-step plan to help you make progress. The Gardening Success Path guides you through short lessons and action steps. Members of the community support each other along the way.
  3. Enjoy your garden. With these gardening skills and practices, you'll gain confidence and live more sustainably. Your family, friends, and neighbors will love the fresh veggies and colorful bouquets.

Become a member so you can stop trying to figure it out alone. Gain the support of a community of gardeners and share the journey as you grow better food, a better life, and a better planet.
