I grow the German Pink Tomato. It is a great heirloom tomato with large sweet meaty fruit. I bought seeds back in 2012 and have been saving them and regrowing my own since. They are indeterminate, so I spend most of the season trying to keep them upright as they outgrow whatever cage/support system I try that given year. Still looking for a permanent solution, but love these tomatoes so will stick with it.

The German Pink Tomato sounds delicious! I love that you’ve been saving seed and developing a tomato that’s really well adapted for your garden.

Have you tried the Florida weave or basket weave system? We really like using it for both determinate and indeterminate. Of course, we have to use tall poles and drag out a ladder toward the end of the summer to tie up the indeterminates. ๐Ÿ™‚

That is exactly what I did last year, even though I didn’t know it had a name. I cut two small cedar trees about 7 foot tall and staked them at the end of the rows. Then weaved twine in and out sandwiching and supporting the plants. Planning to use it again this year!
